Kristallnacht: The Night of Broken Glass

Duration: 45-60 minutes

Grades: 6- 12th grade

We are pleased to introduce a new presentation: Kristallnacht: The Night of Broken Glass. This replaces our previous Kristallnacht presentation and goes beyond a discussion of the how and why of what happened that night. It delves into the experiences of those who were there: the Jews, and the non-Jewish Germans, those who participated, those who stood by and watched, and those who opposed the violence. It also considers the actions of the wider world and how the response, or lack of response, may have contributed to the escalation of violence against the Jews. The new program incorporates video, survivor testimony, and interactive activities—and leaves time for discussion and reflection about the events and experiences discussed. Please fill out the intake form if you are interested in exploring this further.
